7 bad excuses for having sex without a condom

sex with condom

You want to do it safely because you don’t want to get an STI or because you’re not ready to have children yet. Whatever the reason, your bed partner should respect that. Unfortunately, not everyone is a fan of the condom, which is why there are so many excuses for not using a condom. These are the 7 worst excuses!

1. You’re on the pill

The contraceptive pill protects the woman against an unwanted pregnancy. The pill does not protect against STIs. Funnily enough, there are still people who do not fully understand this. So “you’re on the pill, aren’t you?” is absolutely not a good reason to have sex without a condom. Besides, you can never trust the pill 100%. Perhaps your partner doesn’t take the pill regularly, she has just forgotten to take one or she’s lying about it (for whatever reason). Don’t want to become a father yet? Then always use a condom. Sex is something you do as a couple. So you’re both equally responsible!

Did you know… that the condom is the only method of protecting yourself and your bed partner against STIs, but that even condoms are not 100% safe?

2. He has been sterilised

Some men consider it unnecessary to use a condom if they have been sterilised. After all, the risk of pregnancy is minimal. But just like with the pill, you still risk getting an STI.

3. Condoms smell and taste bad

A much-heard excuse and perhaps not entirely untrue. Condoms often have a rubbery taste, and the smell is not necessarily erotic either. Still, this shouldn’t be an excuse to have sex without a condom. Just do some research on different brands, they all have a different smell. And, you might find a brand with a smell and taste that’s just fine for you. There are also flavoured condoms, which make safe oral sex a lot of fun!

4. I feel more without a condom

Yes, men in particular will ‘feel’ sex more if they go without. Some even claim that it becomes totally numb when they wear a condom. If this is the case, he’s probably wearing a condom that’s too big or too small. Of course, it’s very annoying (to say the least) if you feel little or nothing from penetration, but sex with a condom doesn’t necessarily have to make you numb. Find the right size for your penis and experiment with different types of condoms.

Sometimes women also say that sex without a condom is better. Partly because they feel more connected to their bed partner through the skin-to-skin contact. That may be true, but you know what also feels good? Being on the safe side. Next time, give your partner the option: sex with a condom and a little less sensation, or no sex and no sensation at all!

5. Too big for the condom

We just mentioned this. This is a very lame excuse, because there really is a condom for every penis size. There are condoms available in various sizes. Does the condom not fit? Then get a size larger (or smaller).

6. Not carrying a condom

Make sure you always have a condom on you when you go on a date or a trip. You never know how the evening might end. And, if you find yourself without a condom, there are places where you can purchase condoms 24/7. How about a 24-hour store or the WC at the local pub?

7. Latex allergy

It is rare, but some people actually have an allergic reaction to the latex in the condoms. But then again, if you know that about yourself, you can simply get some latex-free condoms, right?

What do you think is the worst excuse to have sex without a condom?
