The birds and the bees: what they don’t tell you in sex education đŸŒŒđŸ

sex education

Sex education: hopefully, we’ve all had it. Mums and dads are going to cuddle up with each other and then a baby will eventually be born. Or the hard penis of the man goes into the vagina of the lady (*enter children’s voices shouting “EWWW”*). There’s a lot to say in sex education, but these are the things we would’ve liked to have known a bit earlier…

“Would’ve been nice if Dr. Sex Education had told us this…”

The Queef

You’re on the bed having a good time, and suddenly it sounds as if a balloon is deflating somewhere. You probably know it, the sound of a
vaginal fart. Don’t worry, it’s very normal. By the way, the name is not quite right, because a fart comes from your bowels, and vaginal farts have nothing to do with that. It doesn’t smell, and it’s not dirty. It’s simply air being pushed into the vagina from outside. By the way, you can also call this phenomenon a queef. It would’ve been nice if Dr. Sex Education had told us this. That would’ve saved a lot of awkward moments!

Erection problems

A lesson on ‘how sex works’ should also include that it’s not always easy to get an erection. More than 10% of all men have experienced erection problems. This is mainly due to performance anxiety. The stress that comes with it doesn’t really help a flaccid penis to get hard either. A woman can also become insecure because she may think her partner doesn’t find her ‘sexy’ enough to get his penis hard. This is all complete nonsense! Keep that in mind.
Oh, and a sidenote: a woman doesn’t always get wet down there easily either. That’s why we have a great invention called lubricant!

One type of sex

If it were up to the birds and the bees, sex would only take place between a man and a woman. Well… WROOOOONG. Sex can be had with yourself, with someone of the same sex, with a few more people, with a toy…. you name it. Penis-in-vagina sex is not the only form of sex, and a woman doesn’t have to lie on her back. Men don’t always have to be dominant, there are more erotic pleasure spots than just the glans and the clitoris, anal sex is very common, and there are thousands of types of fetishes. If we had to write it all down, this article would be longer than the Bible, so feel free to check out our website or ask a question in the comments.

Masturbation

Sex education mainly discusses procreation. People have sex with each other to procreate; to have children. The penis goes into the vagina and if the man gets a really good feeling, something enters the lady, and then there’s a baby in her tummy. Yeah. Cool story, bro. Luckily, we know better! Sex is not just for procreation, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many contraceptives on the market. We have sex because of the intimacy, to get closer to each other, but especially because it’s just so delicious. The man isn’t the only one who can get a very nice feeling during sex, women can get that very nice feeling too! We call that an orgasm. And hooray for us: we humans can also give ourselves an orgasm, and it’s perfectly normal to discover what feels good for you.

Consent

Last but not least: as far as we’re concerned, not enough attention is paid to consent. This is probably because sex in sex education is only described as something that happens between people who are having a love affair with each other. First of all: don’t get us wrong. Even in a love relationship, consent is still needed. But sex goes beyond people in a relationship and unfortunately, it still goes wrong too often in this area. Asking for consent during sex is absolutely essential.
