Want to write your own erotic stories? This is how you do it!

erotic story

Do you like reading erotic stories, and do you think you can do (even) better? Or do your friends love every detail when you tell them all about your wild sex life? Then writing an erotic story may be something for you! Writing a sexy story, is a good way to discover what you like, while others can enjoy your stories. In this article, we explain how you can write your own erotic stories.

Writing an erotic story

You can experience an exciting me-time moment by writing an erotic story. It’s just you and your fantasy, and in your story, everything goes exactly the way you want it to. You are the boss. And that, of course, is extremely sexy. Perhaps there are things you fantasise about that you’d never dare to do in real life. By writing them down, you can still find a way to experience them! We understand that you might not know how to start, so we’ve created a step-by-step plan for you.

“Perhaps there are things you fantasise about but would never dare to do in real life.”

✏️Step #1 Show don’t tell

One of the first rules that every journalist or writer learns is: show, don’t tell. So don’t actually tell the reader what’s happening, but show it… Show it? In text? How? It’s very simple, just look at the example!

This is how…

  • Tell: Maxime is horny and hot, and she wants sex. She sits on Drew, and they have sex.
  • Show: Maxime feels her heartbeat quicken and her ears and cheeks heat up. Small drops of sweat glisten on her chest, and her hair clings to her warm forehead. She sighs deeply. She wraps her legs around Drew and watches her nails press into the skin of his chest as she grabs him. Slowly she lowers herself onto him. She moans deeply as she feels him inside of her.

The first version is short and straight to the point. However, it’s not very arousing, and certainly not stimulating for our imaginations, is it? The second version, on the other hand, really takes you into the scenario! By describing as much as possible, the author makes the reader feel as if they’re really there. This is much easier to do than you think! Just imagine watching a film and describing exactly what you see without literally saying what they’re doing.

✏️Step #2 Surprising plot

You don’t have to start at the beginning. An erotic story is best started at the moment suprême! For example, start at the moment they’re naked in bed together. Later on, you can tell how they got here through a flashback. This way, you write an exciting beginning that captivates the reader.

✏️Step #3 First impression

As with meeting new people, a first impression is very important. This is related to the point above. Make sure your story starts off well right away. Yes, it’s useful to get to know the character and give some background information, but please don’t do that in the first paragraph! Your first paragraph (or intro) has to grab the reader’s attention right away. Something exciting should happen, it should raise a question, or make the reader want to read on. Does your introduction not grab the reader? Then chances are very small that they’ll read on.

“First impressions are very important!”

✏️Step #4 Nice middle ground

The name says it all; an erotic story has to be erotic, of course, but you can decide for yourself how you want to do that. If you’re not feeling kinky, you can use synonyms that are less direct. But do you like raw and wild sex? Then you can use more direct words. It’s all up to you! Are you more of a “he indulged my most sensitive spot with his erection” kind of person, or does “he dry-humped my clit with his hard cock” make your heart beat faster? Yeah, well… We all have our preferences, and it’s your time to shine.

Anyhow… Your choice of words is extremely important for the mood of your story, so think carefully about it. Do you want to write a romantic story about a couple in love having tender sex? Then you’d better stay away from the harsher words. “He stroked her tenderly and whispered ‘I love you’ in her ear as he pushed his cock into her and fucked her for hours” is a bit silly. This sounds better: “He caressed her tenderly and whispered ‘I love you’ in her ear as he pushed himself into her. They made love like they had never done before”.

✏️Step #5 We predict that you shouldn’t be predictable

Nobody likes predictable. Predictable films are stupid, predictable sex in real life is boring. In a story, anything is possible, so take advantage of that! Be creative and surprising. Remember that sex in real life is not always flawless or smooth either. In your story, it’s okay for things to go wrong sometimes. This way, the reader can identify with the characters more easily and it makes your story less predictable.

✏️Step #6 Don’t forget to enjoy it

Are you writing this story for your partner, for a blog, or for yourself? Either way, the most important thing is that you enjoy it. Do whatever you want. If your own story doesn’t make you feel good, then somewhere along the way, things have gone wrong. Maybe you won’t get it right the first time and it’ll take a few tries, but in the end, writing erotic stories will be a great addition to your sex life!
