What are Ben Wa balls?

Ben Wa balls, Geisha balls, Kegel balls, love balls, or vagina balls are all different names for (almost) the same toys. Ben Wa balls are specially designed to be inserted into the vagina. They feel good and help you to train your pelvic floor muscles. A multifunctional toy! By regularly using Ben Wa balls, your sex life will improve on several levels. Ben Wa balls or love balls are available in different designs. There are loose balls, balls with a cord, silicone balls, or magnetic ones. Some of them are hollow and contain smaller balls (counterweights) that move back and forth when you move to create arousal.

Alright, but how exactly do you use Ben Wa balls? Below, we’ll explain it step by step.

Inserting Ben Wa balls

Is this your first time using vagina balls? Make sure you are relaxed before inserting the balls. Always use lubricant when inserting them so that they slide in smoothly. Apply a few drops of lubricant to the balls or to the vagina. Avoid using too much lubricant or the balls will not stay in place. They must be inserted above the pelvic floor, in the same place you would insert a tampon. Don’t worry about inserting them too deeply, that’s not possible. They cannot get lost inside your body and will drop down automatically when you relax your pelvic floor muscles. You can also remove them by squatting down and pushing a little.

Keeping them in

Vagina balls can be worn and used in different ways after insertion. Never wear the balls longer than 30 minutes. Use them daily, or every other day, for about 20 minutes. Ben Wa balls make you tighten your pelvic floor muscles (subconsciously), but if you wear them too long, your muscles can become too tense. Do you want to improve your sex life by training your pelvic floor muscles? Then you need to be able to relax your pelvic floor muscles as well as tighten them. The best way to learn this is by doing exercises. We explain how to do this later in the article.

You can use love balls as foreplay or to train your pelvic floor muscles. You can also wear the balls during sex, as both vaginal and anal penetration is still possible. For vaginal sex, it’s best to wear a single ball. For anal sex, keeping in vagina balls allows your partner to also enjoy the feeling of them. Do you want to use the balls for foreplay? Cleaning Ben Wa balls

Always clean your vagina balls before and after use. You can do this with mild soap and lukewarm water, or with a special toy cleaner. Exercising your pelvic floor muscles with Ben Wa balls

Love balls are perfect for training your pelvic floor muscles. By simply holding them inside, you’re already training them! It’s easy to train your muscles by wearing the balls while you’re busy doing something else. Just make sure that you wear the balls when you’re walking and moving, because that’s when they work best. Want to take your pelvic floor muscle training a step further? Do the following exercises on a regular basis.

Exercise 1

Insert the Ben Wa balls as previously described. For this exercise, sit on a chair. Keep your legs closed. Try to move the ball gently backwards and forwards. Then ‘squeeze’ the balls, as if you want to hold them up for a moment. Hold this for a few seconds. Then let go and relax for a few seconds. Make sure that you relax for at least as long as you tighten your muscles. So, for example, squeeze for two seconds and then relax for two seconds. Repeat this 10 times and then take a minute break. Then repeat the exercise 10 more times. Then rest for two minutes and do a final set of 10. Repeat this exercise 3 to 4 times a week for best results.

Exercise 2

You can try this exercise while standing or sitting down. Squeeze your muscles around the vagina balls and then use your pelvic floor muscles to lift them up. Hold this for 3 to 10 seconds. Then let the balls slide back down and relax. Relax for at least as long as the strain, preferably a little longer. Repeat for 8 to 12 times. For best results, do this exercise 3-4 times a week. You’ll notice it’ll get easier every time. Gradually build up the time you spend flexing your muscles. Start with 3 seconds and work your way up to 10 seconds. Feel like you’ve mastered it? You can make this exercise more challenging by doing it with heavier vagina balls.

Exercise 3

For this exercise, you need vagina balls with a cord. Insert the balls and sit on the edge of the bed or a chair. Tighten your pelvic floor muscles and try to gently pull the balls out of your vagina. Continue to tighten your muscles for 5 seconds while gently pulling on the cord. Then relax for 5 seconds. Repeat this 10 times and then take a minute break. Repeat 10 more times and then take a 2-minute break. Finish with a final set of 10. This exercise also works best when done 3-4 times a week. All going smoothly? Make the exercise more difficult by increasing the sets to 15 reps. You can also build up the muscle tightening time from 5 to 10 seconds.
